Miho Ichise
Painting daily sparkles ✨
“My main subject is something extraordinary I find in ordinary daily life. I find it so exiting to discover something mysterious, funny and subtly beautiful in a mediocre daily life. I would like my work to be an open door to anybody where they can enter and enjoy the scenes”
Although Ichise is a painter, she starts her artworks uses photographs as a source material or reference. Her focus is on the small excitements of life, childhood memories, and mundane moments. Each painting is a frame of a film, a step, a millisecond of life. Therefore, the viewer becomes eager to see the next one, find out how the story develops, and watch the character’s evolution.
Miho Ichise ( 1969) currently lives and works in Fukuoka, Japan. She received her BA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art & Design in London. She has recently exhibited WOAW Gallery, Singapore; scroll nyc, New York; Contemporary by U Gallery, Taipei; Marvin Gardens, New York and Nationale 8 Gallery, Brussels.
